Customizing your Goodnotes

Here, we will explore various features that enhance the Goodnotes experience, and help you to make the most of them to personalize and enhance your note-taking experience.

1. Using Stickers

Stickers are a fun and creative way to add personality to your notes. Here is how to use them in Goodnotes:

1. Accessing Stickers:
   • Open your Goodnotes app and navigate to the page where you want to add a sticker.
   • Tap on the Sticker icon in the toolbar to access the sticker collection.
2. Adding Stickers:
   • Browse through the available stickers and select the one you like.
   • Click on the sticker to add it to your page. You can resize and rotate the sticker by using the handles around it.
3. Custom Stickers:
   • You can also import custom stickers. Simply save the sticker image to your device, and then import it into Goodnotes by tapping the Image icon and selecting the sticker file.

2. Using Ribbons

Ribbons in Goodnotes can help you organize and color-code your pages, as well as making your titles stand out.

1. Creating Ribbons: Tap the Ribbon icon in the toolbar.
2. Using Ribbons for Navigation: Once ribbons are added, you can quickly jump to marked pages by tapping on the Ribbon icon and selecting the desired ribbon.
3. Customizing Ribbons: Customize your ribbons by choosing different colors, sizes and styles to differentiate your notes from one another.

3. Highlighting

Highlighting is an essential tool for emphasizing important information in your notes.

1. Selecting the Highlighter Tool:
   • Tap on the Highlighter icon in the toolbar to activate the highlighter tool.
   • Choose your preferred highlighter color from the color palette.
2. Using the Highlighter:
   • Drag your finger or stylus over the text you want to highlight.
   • By default, highlights are automatically made straight, but if you prefer the imperfections of hand-drawn highlights, you can turn this setting off by clicking on the highlighter again.
3. Erasing Highlights:
   • If you need to remove a highlight, tap on the Eraser tool, then erase the highlight as you would with any other marking.

4. Custom Pen Styles

Goodnotes offers a variety of pen styles to enhance your writing experience.

1. Choosing a Pen Style:
   • Tap on the Pen icon in the toolbar.
   • Select from different pen styles such as ballpoint, fountain, or brush pen.
2. Adjusting Pen Settings:
   • Customize the pen color and thickness, just how you like it.
   • Save your favorite pen settings for easy access, avoiding the need to fiddle with the settings to find your perfect pen later on.

5. Adding Images and Shapes

Incorporate images and shapes into your notes to make them more informative and visually appealing.

1. Adding Images:
   • Tap on the Image icon in the toolbar.
   • Select an image from your device or import from cloud storage.
   • Drag and resize the image to fit your notes.
2. Drawing Shapes:
   • Use the Shape tool to draw perfect circles, rectangles, lines, and more.
   • Draw the shape roughly, and Goodnotes will automatically adjust it to a perfect shape.

6. Organizing with Folders

Keep your notebooks and pages well-organized with folders and tags.

1. Creating Folders:
   • Tap the + icon on the main screen and select Folder.
   • Name the folder and drag notebooks into it.
   • With Goodnotes 6, you can even change the colors of your files, helping you to organize things by topic (although this isn't strictly necessary).
